What “waterproof” actually means — and what it doesn't
Some flooring is marketed as waterproof when only the surface is treated — the core underneath can still absorb moisture and warp. Partek LVP uses an SPC (stone-plastic composite) rigid core that is inert to water. The plank itself doesn't absorb, swell, or delaminate.
One nuance worth knowing: floating LVP over a subfloor is waterproof-planks on a floor, not a sealed waterproof surface. For normal spills, pet accidents, mopping, and bathroom humidity, our LVP is exactly the right tool. Prolonged standing water can still reach a subfloor through the seams over an extended period — but that's true of any floating floor.
The result: you can mop aggressively, leave a wet towel on the bathroom floor, and not worry about the finish the way you would with hardwood or laminate.

Where waterproof LVP is the right call
These are the rooms where moisture rules out hardwood, carpet, or laminate — and where waterproof LVP is the practical, long-lasting choice.
Kitchens
Spills, splashes, and wet feet are daily reality in a kitchen. A floor that absorbs moisture will warp over time — waterproof rigid-core LVP won't, and it cleans up with a standard mop.
Bathrooms
Standing water, humidity, and dripping towels make bathrooms the highest-moisture room in the house. LVP's solid SPC core doesn't absorb water, so it stays flat even in a bathroom that sees daily steam.
Basements
Concrete slabs wick moisture from the ground, and basements can experience minor flooding. Waterproof LVP floats over concrete and won't swell, bubble, or peel — which is why it replaced carpet and laminate as the default basement floor.
Laundry rooms
