The plank we install is 5.5mm total with a solid SPC rigid core and an attached sound-insulation layer. For a condo, basement, or other assembly with technical requirements, we confirm the current product documentation before specifying the floor.

Our crews inspect the subfloor before any plank goes down. If the concrete needs leveling or has active moisture, we address that first. A properly prepped slab means a floor that lies flat, clicks quietly, and doesn't shift over time.

Basement flooring questions

+ Can LVP be installed directly on a concrete basement floor?

Yes. Floating rigid-core LVP can go directly over a clean, flat, dry concrete slab. If the slab has moisture issues or uneven spots, our crews assess and address that before install.

+ What if my basement has some moisture coming through the slab?

Mild vapor transmission is common in Maryland basements. The LVP plank itself won't be damaged by it, but persistent standing water or active leaks need to be addressed at the source before any flooring goes in — we'll tell you honestly if we see that during the measure.

+ Is LVP warmer underfoot than a bare concrete slab?

It can feel more comfortable than bare concrete. Partek LVP includes an attached sound-insulation layer, while the exact thermal result depends on the full floor assembly and slab conditions.

+ Can I put LVP in a basement bathroom?
